Solar Watch

Know the same day a solar string stops working

We read every PV string on your Sunsynk or LuxPower inverter every 5 minutes. When a string fuse blows, a DC breaker trips or the inverter stops reporting, you get an email, and we can come and fix it.

String down

  • PV1296 V10.1 AWorking
  • PV24 VDown since 8 Nov 10:35

PV2 dropped to 4 V at 10:35 while PV1 is at 296 V. Likely a blown string fuse or a tripped DC breaker.

How it works

  1. Sign up

Pay by card, monthly or yearly. Cancel any time.

  2. Share your inverter with us

In the Sunsynk Connect or LuxPower app, the same way you would share it with any installer. We never need your password.

  3. We watch every string

Each PV input is compared with its own usual voltage and with your other strings, from sunrise to sunset.

What we watch for

A dead string

Blown fuse, tripped DC breaker or isolator, burnt connector. Flagged within 15 minutes.

A weak string

A shorted panel or failed bypass diode pulls one string below the others. Flagged within the hour.

An inverter gone quiet

No data for an hour: Wi-Fi, dongle or the inverter itself.

A bad week

Production well below your usual, so dirty panels don't go unnoticed for months.

For solar installers

Watch every client's system in one place. Add the Sunsynk or LuxPower login you already use for your clients' plants and every string, battery and inverter is checked every 5 minutes. Faults come to you, not to your clients, so you decide what to tell them.

Questions

Do you need my Sunsynk or LuxPower password?
No. You share your system with our installer login from the app, and you can remove it whenever you like.
What happens at night?
Panels make almost no voltage after dark, so strings are checked from sunrise to sunset. A string that fails overnight is flagged within about 15 minutes of the sun coming up.
Does cloudy weather cause false alarms?
No. A string's voltage stays close to normal under cloud; it is the current that drops. A string reading near zero while the others are working is a real fault.
Which inverters work?
Sunsynk and LuxPower inverters with their Wi-Fi or LAN dongle online.
